Toner index

The overall quality of a type of toner is determined by the following six factors: blackness, bottom ash, fixation, resolution, waste toner rate, and ghosting. These factors are related to each other and affect each other. The reasons for affecting these factors are described below.
1. Blackness: The calculation of the blackness value is that the blackness value tester first emits a certain number of strong beams, hits the figure to be measured, and then reflects back to the blackness value tester, calculates the absorbed light beam, and then passes the fixed The value calculated by the program. The higher the blackness value of the toner is, the better the printing effect is. The international blackness value standard (original OEM) is 1.3. In order to meet the different needs of various industries, the average blackness value of the company's toner is generally controlled at about 1.4.
2. Bottom ash: The bottom ash is to test the blackness value of the blank space in the printed sample with no blackness tester. Under normal circumstances, the bottom ash value of original OEM toner is 0.001-0.03, when it is greater than 0.006, the result of visual inspection will feel that the printed sample is a bit dirty. The main factors affecting the bottom ash value are the electrical and magnetic properties of the toner. Each type of printer requires that the electromagnetic properties of the toner are generally different. This is also a reason why we emphasize the special powder. In addition, due to printers or toner cartridges can also cause bottom ash. The bottom ash of ASC toner is controlled below 0.005.
3 Fixing fastness: Fixing fastness refers to the ability of the toner attached to the surface of the paper to melt and penetrate into the fiber. The quality of the resin is a major factor affecting the firmness of toner fixing.
4. Resolution: Resolution refers to the dots (DPI) that can be printed per inch. The thickness of toner particles will directly affect the resolution. At present, the resolution of toner is mainly 300DPI, 600DPI, 1200DPI.
5. Waste toner rate: The waste toner rate refers to the proportion of waste toner produced by a certain amount of toner in normal printing. The waste toner rate directly affects the number of sheets printed with a certain amount of toner. The standard requires that the waste toner rate of toner is less than 10%.
6. There are two types of ghost performance: positive ghosts and negative ghosts. The positive ghost image is the ghost image we usually say, that is, the same text (or pattern) appears directly below the text (or other patterns) (paper direction), but the density value (blackness) is much lower than it. . Generally formed during the fixing process or the transfer process.
